The following are options of make-up work you can do for my class.
1. Service... If "Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and the widows in their affliction," then the purest form of make-up work for a religious seminary class would be to visit those same widows, fatherless and afflicted. Therefore, your mission, should you choose to accept it (and I hope you will) is to find an hour of service to perform that will benefit someone in need. You can call your YM/YW leader or your BISHOP for ideas. I reccommend Checking out local Salvation Army headquarter on Main St., The Special Olympics, Homeless Shelter's, the Wounded Warrior's project, the Veteren's Affairs office, etc. Write a summary of every hour you do. Each hour of service equals TWO days absences. Work it!
2. Read the following church talk, BEWARE OF PRIDE, by Ezra Taft Benson and write a summary of the speach and of what you learned or felt impressed applied to you and what changes you think this new knowledge will introduce into your life. Please read this carefully, it's a beautiful life-changer if you let it! Have your parents sign the bottom, certifying that you READ the entire Talk, and then YOU sign it, saying you did the same!
3. Read or Listen to OUR REFINED HEAVENLY HOME by Douglas L. Callister of the seventy. THIS is a TOP 5 CHURCH SERMON OF ALL TIME! Read it entirely and prayerfully consider it's message than write a small summary of no more than one page of the entire talk and what impressions you felt and how this will improve you! Once again: Please read this carefully, it's a beautiful life-changer if you let it! Have your parents sign the bottom, certifying that you READ the entire Talk, and then YOU sign it, saying you did the same!
4. Watch the MAN WHO PLANTED TREES and write a one page summary. I believe this work is INSPIRED and can also change you! Investigate the premise of the writing of Jean Giano's original short story and write a summary of both the film and the impressions it rendered in you (no more than 2 pages).
